International Forum For Health Tourism – Second Edition


The Second Edition of International Forum for Health Tourism took place between 25- 27 January 2013 at Traian Hotel, Iasi, Romania!

The Romanian College of Physicians and the Amphitheatre Foundation initiated during 25th – 27th of January 2013, at Iasi, Romania, the Second Edition of the International Forum for Health Tourism.

The International Forum for Health Tourism aimed to continue what  started a year ago, that is to create a media and communication platform between experts in touristic and health services, in order to identify the main, specific resources of this form of tourism in Romania and all around the world and its integration in a coherent system of development.

Within the second edition new informations regarding health tourism where brought, clarifying the concept and also identifying the components of a succesful development strategy in the field. At the forum participated representatives for all over the world belonging to local and international public authorities, medical specialist, researchers and many others.

Some of the topics discussed were the liberalization of the insurance of health tourism, the importance of a quality management of the international patients, as well as the main strategies of marketing in the field.



Papers accepted within the International Forum for Health Tourism where published in the Forum Abstract Proceedings.

Best papers which passed the double blind review where published within the special edition of the International Journal for Responsible Tourism – “Perspectives on Health Tourism” – Vol.2., Issue 1 / 2013. The publication was indexed in international databases.
